Anne Cushman is a pioneer in the integration of creative expression, yoga, and Buddhist mindfulness meditation. She is the director of the Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in northern California, and teaches regular retreats and courses both in person and online.
Since graduating from Princeton University with a degree in comparative religion, she has been a passionate explorer of body-based spiritual practices and their integration into the chaos and magic of everyday life. She is a former editor at Yoga Journal and Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, and her personal essays on contemplative practice in contemporary life have been widely published in venues that include the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, O magazine, and the Shambhala Sun.
