Bob StahlThis traditional insight meditation retreat (Vipassana) offers silent periods of sitting and walking meditation, Dharma talks and times for talking about the practice.
Each day will consist of daily talks and systematic meditation instructions on the four foundations of mindfulness, combined with practices for developing loving-kindness and compassion. These teachings and practices will focus on calming the mind, opening the heart and developing clarity, wisdom and compassion, encouraging depth of practice.
Evening talks will highlight the key teachings of the Buddha and their practical application to our lives, showing how they relate to mindfulness-based interventions.
This retreat meets the requirements for mindfulness-based teacher training programmes and is suitable for those who wish to deepen their practice and develop a deeper understanding of mindfulness meditation. It is also for people who teach or aspire to teach mindfulness in healthcare, psychology, education, science, government or business and corporate settings.
Course language is English, with consecutive translation into German (translator: Nadine Helm).

Bob Stahl, Ph.D. has completed MBSR teacher certification at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Dr. Stahl also serves as an Adjunct Senior Teacher for Oasis – the institute for mindfulness-based professional education and innovation of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
He is a long-time practitioner of insight meditation who lived in a Buddhist monastery for over eight years.
Note on changes due to Corona
Due to corona-related official orders or travel restrictions, it is possible that this attendance event will have to take place online at short notice or will be postponed to a later date. In this case we will inform all participants immediately. If the online format or the later date is not suitable for you, you have the option of cancelling free of charge.
With regard to your travel and accommodation at the venue, we ask all participants to check the Corona rules and regulations that apply to you on their own responsibility. As these regulations change regularly and differ from (federal) state to (federal) state, it is unfortunately not possible for us to keep track of the individual regulations for all participants.

The costs for this retreat are as follows:
1. Organization costs
360 Euro
For this amount you will receive an invoice from Arbor Seminars after registration.
From these organisational costs we pay, among other things, the fees of the translator and the assistant, travel costs, accommodation and meals for the entire retreat leadership (4 people in total).
We try to plan our events as affordable as possible. Unfortunately, however, we are also affected by smaller groups and general price increases, which is why we have had to increase the costs for this retreat somewhat.
However, we are keeping a contingent of discounted places available. We therefore ask people who cannot afford the organisational costs to contact us directly. A low income should not be an obstacle to participating in a retreat.
2. Dana (donation in Buddhist tradition)
We ask you to give your donation directly to the retreat leader at the end of the retreat.
Dana means 'giving' and is a Buddhist practice in giving/generosity. It stems from the conviction that the teachings cannot be outweighed by any material values and that they should be available free of charge to all who are interested. Therefore, the teachers offer their work free of charge. However, in order to make their living and their further teaching activities possible, they depend on voluntary donations at the end of the course.
Bob Stahl is reimbursed for travel and other expenses, but receives no fee from Arbor Seminare. Therefore, participants are asked to give as much as they are able and feel is appropriate. In this way, the retreats can be offered at relatively reasonable prices, so that interested people with low incomes can also participate.
3. Costs for accommodation and meals
Please contact the retreat house Hof Oberlethe directly to book your room. Single, double and multi-bed rooms are available in various price categories; camping is also possible.
In case of non-appearance or early departure from the event, the full course fee must be paid.
If you cancel your participation, please do not forget to cancel your room in the seminar house as well!
