Tim Desmond is a Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Antioch University, teaching professional psychology rooted in self-compassion. He runs a startup with the mission to make mental health care radically more accessible. After a troubled youth, Desmond was exposed to the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and eventually studied at Plum Village. Desmond has published several books including How to Stay Human in a F*cked Up World: Mindfulness Practices for Real Life (HarperOne, forthcoming), and he was a co-organizer of Occupy Wall Street.
