This silent retreat will take place in-person in Austria, under appropriate hygiene and behavior regulations.
Unfortunately, due to the Corona pandemic, Bob Stahl will not be traveling to Europe in June, but luckily he will join us online. This way, he can still be there and lead the retreat. We already run this retreat form last year successfully, receiving a very positive feedback.
Due to the time difference (Bob lives in California), Bob will be online in the early morning until breakfast and from late afternoon until the end of the day to lead meditations, give Dharma talks and offer group discussions.
In the times in between, his assistant Petra Tschögl will lead the retreat and offer meditations and group talks during the day (only in German!)
When Bob is present, the retreat language is English, with consecutive translation into German. During the day, the retreat language is German. Therefore, for participation it is helpful to speak and understand German.
The retreat will have a special focus on how Vipassana meditation informs MBSR. MBSR is derived most importantly from mindfulness meditation, along with stress psychology, and group process.
This retreat will include systematic instructions in Vipassana meditation - both sitting and walking - and evening talks highlighting the central teachings of the Buddha and their practical application to our lives and how they relate to Mindfuness-based interventions.
The retreat emphasizes steadying the mind, opening to insight, and developing profound clarity and depth of insight practice. Instruction will follow the traditional four foundations of mindfulness, combined with training in loving-kindness and compassion, through a daily schedule of silent sitting, walking, dharma talks and interviews.

The retreat fee is divided in two parts:
This amount is to be paid upon registration.
On the other side, due to the fact that it is a traditional Vipassana-Retreat, it runs on a Dana base – that means, at the end of the retreat you give the teacher whatever you can or as much as you believe adequate.
Dana is the practice of cultivating generosity or giving. In the Buddhist tradition these teachings have always been considered priceless and are offered freely to all. You are welcome to make a donation of whatever means to the teacher to help support their work teaching the Dhamma. You give the teacher as much as you can or as much as you believe adequate. Of course you can simply give as much as it is commonly requested for retreats of this type.
If you have questions concerning the retreat fee, please contact us.
In case of non-appearance or early departure from the event, the full course fee must be paid.
Participation in this retreat is at your own risk.
The leader of the retreat and the organizer don’t assume liability of personal or material damage.
